They wrapped Rich's finger and gave him some tylenol. Found out what happened. They said he was the only one this year who had cut themselves carving pumpkins :) he loved to hear that. Then we had to wait in the waiting room for a little while. We finally got a room and the nurse checked him out and cleaned out the cut. He said he'd need a tetanus shot and probably stitches but that they might be able to glue it. Then it took forever for the doctor to come look at it, and she said she was going to give him stitches, so she left to get stuff ready. Then the nurse came back in and said they decided to just glue it because it wasn't on a "bendy" part of his finger and that the glue should be ok. So then we had to wait for the doctor to come back and glue it shut. Rich said we should have just gone to Target and gotten some superglue. Before the doctor came back some kid came in and asked if he wanted to be part of a medical study. Basically they offer him federally funded follow-up care (because he told them he didn't have a primary physician) and they call to see if they were more likely to go to their follow-up appointment if it was free. I, in the meantime, stole Rich's blanket because I was freezing. Turns out I had a fever which is why I was still shivering while I was wrapped in the blanket.
After they finally came and glued his finger and got his paperwork done I had just enough time to take a shower and head to work.
Friday was my first day at Target. I didn't feel good since I had a fever. And it was such a long day anyway since we had to go to the hospital. I really just didn't want to be there. I did like everyone I've worked with so far. There's a girl from Silex so we know a lot of the same people since we hung out with the Silex basketball team a little in high school. There's also a guy from Kenya who is also a STLCOP student.
Yesterday was Rich's birthday and I got him a puzzle box, like the one's my dad has. I've always thought they were cool and I knew he would like one. This is what it looks like and it has 27 steps to open it.
Also just wanted to share my picture of the squirrels eating the pumpkins I had in the backyard. We just left them there when we went to the hospital, and the squirrels took the lid off Rich's and starting eating the seeds. :) The pic is small but I took it with my phone... by the time I got my real camara the squirrel was gone.

Yeah just a little embarassed! :) Iwasn't supposed to tell anyone how it happened LOL
At least the squirrels were happy. They probably love you being in that house. Fattening them up for winter.
